Music videos for Homer - Ensatina album
Homer Steinweiss has an incredibly storied career in music that started when he was just a teenager. He’s drummed for nearly every “retro soul” group that mattered and his distinctive stickwork helped blend the raw-but-receptive soul sound back into the mainstream via the likes of Amy Winehouse & Sharon Jones. He’s now one of the most in demand drummers in the world, playing with Jonas Brothers, Clairo, Solange, Adele, and Bruno Mars to name a few. With his debut solo release Ensatina, Homer stepped to the forefront as both musician and producer.

The first video I made for the album, Rollin', was originally a test for me of using ai-generated still frames from Stable Diffusion for animation. I was also trying out different ways to combine sections and sequences together.
Following the success and ease of our collaboration on "Rollin", and with the ai techniques I had refined on that venture, we decided to make a second video for the song "Wishing Well".
The next video for the song "Camera" was based on Homer's love of going to the movies and that old roller coaster animation they would play before the trailers. The second half of the video is the feature film, and it is a repurposed sci-fi story and animation I had originally made for Instagram as a stand-alone.
The video was screened in Rooftop Films' 2024 Summer Series.
Then finally we made Racecar Driver, a combination of pre-existing assets I had made for other purposes and also repurposed elements from We Come to The Show / Dynamic Futures, and much new content entirely - a multi-discipline display of mesmerizing wonders.
This video was also screened at a festival, the Ridgewood Off Kilter Filmfest
